Do you allow outside catering?
Basil Place partners exclusively with A Taste of Excellence for all catering services. They will work directly with you to create a custom menu and provide all staffing for food service.
Who handles the bartending services?
Basil Place partners exclusively with Thirsty Filly for bartending services. Thirsty Filly supplies the professional bartenders and supports bar planning and recommendations, while Basil Place, holding the liquor license—handles all alcohol purchasing and inventory for your event.
Who handles cleanup and teardown?
At Basil Place, the last thing we want you to worry about at the end of the night is cleanup. A Taste of Excellence Catering Team, along with your trusted vendors, will take care of the space and thoughtfully gather all of your personal belongings onto one table for easy pickup the next day—whether you choose to stay overnight or not.
Can guests stay overnight at Basil Place?
With overnight accommodations for up to 20 guests, Basil Place invites you to extend the celebration. 18 guests may stay in the Manor House, while 2 enjoy a private stay in the Carriage House Honeymoon Suite.
Do you allow real candles? ​
We do allow real candles as long as they are covered.

Do you host events other than weddings?
Basil Place welcomes a wide range of events, from bridal and baby showers to retirement celebrations, work retreats, holiday parties, and mental health seminars. If you can imagine it, we’re happy to host it. We’re ready to bring your next event to life-inquire today!
Can we bring our own alcohol for the event?
No. As a licensed venue in the state of Ohio, Basil Place is required to provide all alcohol served at events. This ensures compliance with state liquor laws and allows us to manage inventory and service responsibly.
Do you have somewhere for the bride and her party get ready?
The bride and her wedding party have the option to get ready in our charming Carriage House, a picturesque setting surrounded by gardens and a tranquil pond. The carriage house provides a serene and elegant space for pre-wedding preparations, complete with comfortable seating, ample natural light, and beautiful views of the estate. The Carriage House is also our honeymoon suite that offers a seamless transition from celebration to relaxation.
Do you have somewhere for the grooms and his party get ready?
Depending on the package the groom and his party are invited to get ready in the main level of the Manor House, which features a dedicated Bourbon Room for their enjoyment. This speakeasy-inspired space offers a private and relaxed atmosphere, perfect for the gentlemen to bond, share stories, and toast to the upcoming celebration.
What happens if it rains?
Your dedicated Basil Place team stays closely involved throughout your day and will wait until one hour before your ceremony to decide whether an outdoor setting is possible—because more often than not, the rain clears just in time. If weather requires an indoor ceremony, our staff, along with A Taste of Excellence, will seamlessly transform the Event Center for your ceremony and then return it to reception-ready without disrupting your celebration.

What is included in the venue rental fee?
Included amenities vary by package. All rentals include exclusive access to the entire property and all main event spaces, along with all ceremony and reception chairs, 72" round tables, 8' x 10' banquet tables, and bistro sets. Bedrooms and the Carriage House may be added for an additional fee.
